Recently Huawei the manufacturer of Honor smartphone series is starts rolling out the new updates for Honor 5X KIW-L22 for Indian users so you can install and enjoy the Android Marshmallow 6.0 feel and its features on your smartphone. Actually, Huawei released the official build of Android Marshmallow 6.0 in the form of OTA update for Honor 5X which brings the new features, new UI and some bug fixes with latest security patches. This official build of Android M 6.0 only for India Honor 5X users, but in this guide, we’ll go to share some steps to install this official OTA update on your handset. Means we’re going to share manually guide to install Android Marshmallow on Honor 5X KIW-L22.
Some Huawei smartphone such as Honor 6, Honor 7, Huawei P8 Lite and etc.. have received the latest Android 6.0 marshmallow OTA update few month ago. Now finally Huawei also announced the Android 6.0 OTA update for honor 5X. Remember that this update is official and this is only for Honor 5X-KIW-L22 model only and for Indian users.
The OTA update for other Honor 5X variants like KIW-L21 and KIW-L24 are expected to release soon in coming days. In this guide, we’ll let you know to update the Honor 5X to new Android Marshmallow 6.0. You can also update you Honor 5X KIW-L22 using the HiCare android app or you can follow this guide to install it manually.
Precautions: Please make the proper backup of your personal data(contacts, messages, files & folder and etc…) then proceed to the installation guide.

How to install Android 6.0 Marshmallow on Honor 5X manually:

  1. First of all download the Offical Android Marshmallow OTA update for Honor KIW-L22 from Huawei’s servers.
  2. After downloading, place the update.zip file (OTA update ) in you the root of internal storage of your Honor 5X.
  3. Now, go to settings>>update
  4. Now tap on the menu button then select the Local update, this will locate and detect the update.zip from your internal storage then the installation process will begin.
  5. Once the installation process finished, restart your smartphone then enjoy then new feature on your Honor KIW-L22.

  1. First, you need to download the latest version of HiCare app from google play store.
  2. Now open the HiCare app and select you region as Asia and location India
  3. Now Choose the OS upgrade option
  4. Now you’ll see a pop now tap on the System update and then tap on the check for updates.
  5. You’ll see a new version of Android, then tap to install.
  6. Enjoy.
